Asociación Civil Selva Amazónica - ACSA

ACSA is non-governmental development organization devoted to scientific research, training in health issues, diagnosis and treatment of infectious and tropical diseases. Investigation and development include tropical and infectious diseases, especially HIV/AIDS, social development and human rights at regional, national and international level. ACSA activities focus on clinical research and the operational implementation of prevention programs, diagnostic and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV/AIDS. The staff is a team of multidisciplinary professionals with experience in scientific research and its application to development.

Martin Casapia, MD, MPH, is a medical surgeon graduated from the Universidad Federico Villarreal. He did his residency in Infectious and Tropical diseases at Universidad Cayetano Heredia and got his Master in Public Health Degree with a major in Epidemiology from the University of Washington. Dr. Casapia has been Deputy Director of the Regional Health Authority in Loreto and has worked extensively in HIV/AIDS in this region.
