
INMENSA is an independent nonprofit organization, devoted to scientific, educational and social welfare objectives in the area of public health by means of biomedical investigation, health promotion and the prevention and treatment of disease.
INMENSA goes beyond the knowledge of disease; it searches to translate knowledge into applicable strategies, evidence-based policies, innovative products and effective therapies.

Javier Lama, MD, MPH is a medical surgeon specializing in Infectious and Tropical Diseases, and graduate of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. He earned his Masters in Public Health/Epidemiology with a certificate in International Health from the University of Washington.
Dr. Lama has implemented various studies that describe the epidemiology of transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV in vulnerable population in Peru. His principal areas of research are related to the evaluation of new treatment and prevention strategies for HIV (including vaccines and pre-exposures prophylaxis) and associated opportunistic infections. He also evaluates the epidemiology of antiretroviral drug resistance in Peru.
