
The San Francisco Department of Public Health HIV Research Section conducts ethical, innovative research that is likely to have the greatest impact on preventing HIV infection and AIDS in this changing epidemic. Susan P. Buchbinder , MD, is the director of the HIV Research Section at the San Francisco Department of Public Health and an associate clinical professor of medicine and epidemiology at University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Buchbinder focuses on researching vaccines for HIV/AIDS, working with the HIV Vaccine Trials Network and innovative interventions for HIV prevention.
