
Experiences on the implementation of the iPrEx study at its 11 sites were presented to a forum of Canadian government agencies, community based and AIDS service organizations and community leaders of affected communities. The forum “Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) as a Potential HIV Prevention Method: Building Awareness and action among Canadians” that took place in Ottawa on November 20th, aimed at 1) building better understanding among Canadian of PrEP research and key ethical challenges; 2) learning from the experiences of developing country representatives already engaged in PrEP trials; 3) providing an opportunity for Canadians involved in HIV prevention to network and mobilize around PrEP; and 4) sharing resources related to PrEP that can be used to inform and plan around PrEP in Canada.
